Emily Dynes is an experienced musician and film composer of ambient, vocal and electronic music. Emily recently created the soundscape for ‘Waiting On You,’ a 2018 stage play written and directed by Gabrielle Pearson. She performed the original composition live at the MTC’s Southbank Theatre over the show’s mini season in Melbourne, Australia, with critics describing her sound as ‘dynamic’ and ‘outstanding work.’ She was a panelist at the most recent St Kilda Film Festival, discussing composing music for short films from the dual perspective of filmmaker and musician. Some of her previous compositional credits feature short films 'Farewell Father' (dir. Gennaro Gregory) & 'Driver Passenger' (dir. Darcy Conlan). She has also worked on several short films and documentaries, which include historical piece 'Mister Herschell,' domestic drama 'Boyfriend' (dir. Zara Sengstock) and Vietnam thriller 'Phuong Hoang' (dir. Tim Smith). Her corporate work includes the TVC for the 2018 Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria for the Organ Tissue Authority and James Harper Apparel's 2017 summer campaign. Emily is currently composing the score for ‘Lapse’ - a live dance performance created by acclaimed Australian choreographer Sian Kelly and supported by Undrgrnd Melbourne.
